Mentorship Professional Growth Community-Centered Service

Everyday Communication, LLC (EDC) is growing the Next Generation of school-based Speech-Language Pathologists in Alaska.

Due to an extreme shortage of culturally competent and community-minded SLPs serving Alaskan school children, Everyday Communication, LLC aims to grow entrepreneurial and professional skills in speech-language pathologists. We want YOU to become a small business owner with ties and connections to Alaska’s most vibrant small communities.

About Our Company

Through long-standing professional connections with various Alaskan school districts, our company receives contracts from school districts needing support with their speech and language caseloads. Through a stair-step plan, we pay you a portion of our contract. Then, we support your learning of Alaskan culture, ethical contracting practices, teaming, and business skills. As your skill and investment in the community you’re serving grows, so does your pay. We want you to fall in love with Alaska. We want you to take contracts. We want you to become a small business owner and become the best SLP you can be.

The following table outlines our model.

Year Two “The Therapy Year”

Support establishing a professional network with your assigned caseload and training regarding how to best collaborate with teams as a virtual therapist. Support interpreting Alaskan Special Education Law.

Year Three “The Business Year”

Mentorship acquiring business licenses, setting up an LLC, beginning payroll, and understanding contract negotiation.

About Our Owner

A native Arkansan with a unique skill set in professional adaptability and creative vision.

Lindsey Woods received her Bachelors of Fine Arts in English Literature and Secondary Education from Arkansas Tech University in May of 2008. Now, Lindsey resides in Hot Springs Village with her family and wishes to serve the Hot Springs Village, Jessieville, Fountain Lake, and Mountain Pine communities with quality pediatric and adult speech-language pathology services. Lindsey is certified in Therapeutic Listening – a scientifically engineered music program clinically proven to increase regulation and executive functioning abilities in the pediatric population. Lindsey specializes in holistic, comprehensive case review, skilled interviewing for creating patient-centered goals, caregiver training, collaborative development and consulting for skilled home programs, and tween-young adult social skill development.
